Call Me Thrifty - Jamie Peacock (Tuesday Sept 15 2009)

Some things are lost in translation
in transition, from the freeflowing though
to that ordinary pen you bought;
The expensive things you've sought
might as well have already turned to soot.
trampled under foot, by your decisive devices
and the havoc they've wrought.

I'm on the next train
to a place with a great view
where the price I pay
isn't a narrowing noose
dependency is no excuse
lets gets loose

call me thrifty, but I'll hold on tighter to moral
than anything ever offered from a store.
forced their hands in junction with consumption.
forced our hands, we believe the need to reach for something.

I'm headed to the north
where what you buy
isn't what you're worth
where the price I pay
isn't a narrowing noose
dependency was primed
surely it can be diffused

Our words are worth more
than sale price, so much more.
the verbal rifle is cocked
and the ticking clock stopped
